Yeah, I'm waiting for someone to release English timed subs for the Amazon rips. They're really, really good and sometimes even better than the commercial Blu-ray releases.

@ Ichiro If you cut out the first 30 or so secs from the 'Perfect Edition' audio then it syncs with this. It definitely sounds a lot better than the audio on this. Btw, thanks, Puto.

1080p, there were no BD's them days, dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z were all released on DVD's in 4:3 aspect ration anything that has greater resolution than on those DVDs has been 'remastered' unfortunately the aspect ratio changed to 16:9.....if they left it 4:3 it would be much better, especially bcoz their remastering was done using the original 16mm film, as far i recall there were some 4:3 versions, dunno about their genuinity 'In April 14, 2006, a "Dragon Box: The Movies" DVD box was released. This release contained all 17 Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z theatrical features, containing 8 DVDs in total, along with a book, and two scouters in the form of walkie-talkies. The video and audio are remastered; however, the video is cropped to 16:9 (widescreen) and contains less picture than the full-screen versions.'

@ kris1986kk This was remastered, not "remastered" and in its original 4x3 AR and going by this, it's possible that TOEI Animation is remastering Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT in high definition while they've not announced anything yet. Plus, the TVSP2 might have well been remastered as well, we just don't know. Dragon Box: The Movies are still good but inferior now to the TOEI HD remasters.

@ Super_Saiyan_Lusitano 'remastered' = in this case not an upscale of an existing DVD source, yet cropping from 4:3 to 16:9 and killing the original content,+changing the saturation , which is why i got the DVD ver as well as the pseudo HD bcoz don't get me wrong, what they did, did not change or add details to the existing video, in fact there may be less details, they just used something like 'aWarpSharp' , those who did some encoding with Avisynth wil probably correct me if im wrong, but i think it was aWarpSharp that did the black lines thicker and with help of levels filter, those lines got darker too, which would help in hiding the upscale/reamstered video besides, full screen the DVD ind if you get their remastered quality except different saturation then you will get my point true remastering = Ghibli only btw, puzzled about HD version of DBZ, bcoz there is one, that cropped 1080p thing, sadly if they had the original drawings they could go 4k with that, altho considering 24frames per second times 20 times 291...yea ,few tons of backgrounds,characters and and and

This is a legit remaster from the 16mm source, no arguing that. It however has some fairly strong DNR. But this is the best we've got for this special for the time being.

@ kris1986kk This is a genuine remaster but the only version we've seen so far are samples on YouTube and this, though it did premiere in selected theaters in US so those who have seen it on the big screen would be able to tell you how impressively good it looks. TV and YouTube rips are compressed so we don't know how good it looks until it's released via Amazon or on Blu-ray.

@ Super_Saiyan_Lusitano but teh thing that confused me the most is the fact that this movie/special in 1080p was already there in 2013, back then in 16:9 AR, so how come it got remastered now? some things do not add up, i reencoded it myself to shrink the file size, comparing the screens and down scaling mine to match the resolutions more or less, made me realize, what i have is exactly same thing as the file from this torrent, except mine is cropped (source was cropped as well), so if mine reencode did lose some quality and this torrents file too and both look same.....i mean in that case this torrent aint from any remastered thing that was released months ago, but years? or its some old upscale that looks decent someone has to explain me this, i got other 12 DB Z movies all in 1080p and some DB movies , 3 in 720p and one 1080p from which the 1080p one looks damm legit, it all came from nyaa

the 2013 is not a remaster, it's a cropped upscale. The ONLY legit remasters of anything DB/Z/GT are FUNimation/Mexican Dragonball Movies, DBZ Movies 1-13 from Toei BD, and this TV Special.

@ Akai-Shuichi http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/128604 each of the two versions has been cropped, which means both are missing and both have a part that the other does not have.....compared the 4:3 RS version(upscaled myself) to a DVD i bought years ago, the 4:3 is same as the DVD, now i ask myself, if the 16:9 is an upscale, how come it has parts that the DVDver does not has? dunno how its possible, but if one would combine both frames, you get what i did, altho i put one player on top of the other one so basically, the 16mm film was being cropped each time they touched it? so is there a ver that has not been cropped at all???

forgot to mention, the move from this torrent has the same cropping on both versions, but i went with the series instead

When it was drawn there is of course extra information that is not included in the frame when converting it for release. But because it was and is still intended to be 4:3 (like the TV series) the video on the top/bottom is more important than the extra on the side.

You should have used Freezer instead of freeza in the subtitles, because freeza is engrish, just like it's cooler and not coola
