This is my (hopefully) complete batch torrent for the Monogatari series, barring any future seasons coming into existence.
>What order should I watch?
Please refer to [this spreadsheet](https://rats.moe/One_Does_Not_Simply_Watch_Monogatari.html). I'd recommend ~~Broadcast~~ Light Novel Order if you want the canonical experience, Broadcast if you want to experience it the way most TV viewers did, Chronological if you want the story to be linear (for more information on why these orders exist, see [this fan wiki page](https://bakemonogatari.fandom.com/wiki/Monogatari_Series_Timeline_and_Watch_Guide)). I've named the episodes such that it should be relatively straightforward to follow any of these orders. However, there is a catch, which is discussed below.
>What's with the wonky season/episode numbering?
The numbering scheme I have chosen corresponds to the show's [TVDB listing](https://www.thetvdb.com/series/monogatari). This order is **not** recommended for viewing, but the episodes must be numbered and organized this way for metadata such as episode descriptions to properly display on Plex servers, or anything else that uses TVDB as a metadata agent.
>Why did you choose [Subgroup X] over [Subgroup Y]?
A combination of personal preference and a strong aversion to ordered chapters. In case you want more detail:
**Bakemonogatari**
subs: [ANE]
reason: these seem to be the most popular subs on the net
**Nise, Neko, Kabuki, Otori, Oni, Koi, Hana, Tsuki, Owarimonogatari**
subs: [Commie]
reason: can't find a batch of all of Commie's work on this series, hence why I'm making one
**Koyomimonogatari**
subs: [DB]
reason: all the subs I found seemed pretty much the same, so I picked one at random
**Kizumonogatari**
subs: [edo]
reason: I liked the typesetting
**Owarimonogatari (part 2)**
subs: [Tess]
reason: of the two official sub sources, this one appears to be higher quality (no fansubs seem to exist yet)
**Zoku Owarimonogatari**
subs: [MTBB]
reason: these are the only subs I could find with decent typesetting
TL;DR it's mostly Commie because I admire their work and couldn't find a batch.
>This torrent is huge. Why didn't you do any encoding?
I wanted to keep the original sources intact (plus I didn't really feel up to the challenge).
**Edit:** please ignore the 1.ass file in the Bakemonogatari folder. This file is not required for viewing the subs; I just forgot to remove a relic of my sub inspection.
**Edit 2:** when making this torrent I was not aware that Commie had released Kizumonogatari. I haven't compared the two (Commie and Edo), but I'll stick to Edo for now if only for the sake of not having to make a new torrent or a cumbersome patch.
**Edit 3:** the chronological order listed previously was wrong. It took actually trying to watch it to figure this out. The list has been updated, and the chronological section made slightly less ugly.
**Edit 4:** there is no Mayoi Hell 3. The file marked Mayoi Hell 3 is actually Hitagi Rendezvous 1, the file marked Hitagi Rendezvous 1 is actually 2, etc. The episodes in the Season 05 folder are still in the correct viewing order when sorted alphabetically (no matter which option you chose above).
