Video is encoded by μtw-Kaleido from the Japanese Blu-ray. Subtitles are also by μtw-Kaleido. English dub is sourced from FUNimation WEB-DL and synced by Spoony.
Being Kaleido’s encode, take your beef up with them, LostYears just adds the dub and signs/songs track.
On an unrelated note, ep7 of YameteTomete’s Magia Record is out, do you magic!
I found that mostly Player’s fail to play when encodes to 10bit x264 and i try 10bit x265 it’s play in regular video players and to my Smart TV also that’s my experience.
I don’t like [Judas] encodes it’s lossy for me cuz lot of artifacts gone, [Cleo] and [bonkai77] much better encodes me file size is not problem cuz i have 2 16TB HDD plus 10TB server drive i prefer for best quality available, who want small encodes you must go for [judas], [Cleo], [Prof] and [Bonkai77] for who want quality go for [BDremux], [SCY], [LostYears], [MK-SCY],[iAHD | iAHQ], [RH], [-KS-].
I like the best quality available so I go for bdmv, got into a pissing match with my opponent who said he (or she) used various filters for deblocking, anti-aliasing etc. and it looked better than the raw bd source. I don’t give a shit about that, the raw bd is good enough for me-size be damned.
BDMVs suffer from too much source defects for me to want to archive them. Pretty much 100% of anime Blu-rays need at minimum some debanding, but often times a lot of work goes into the encodes. You should see what Light does for these Fate/GO Baby episodes. Rescaling from native resolution to improve line-art among other things goes a long way into making proper encodes superior to BDMVs at a fraction of the size.
And that’s a very common misconception. “Improving” over the raw source material doesn’t mean a fucking thing-all it means is that somebody reduced the size of the original bdmv by 50-60% and “it looks better than the source”. Bullshit-in whose eyes does it look better?
Nothing misconceived about it. If you get rid of all the source defects and maintain all the details of the source, obviously it’s going to look better. Who the fuck wants to look at video where nearly every scene is chock full of aliasing and extreme banding? It’s obviously going to look better for everyone, especially those with a decent pair of eyes that can’t stand the shitty source defects and excellent encoders fix it so why not take advantage of a good encode.
I won’t argue about it. I just like raw bluray files with no “processing” or compression applied. It’s like the old “sub vs. dub” argument-to each their own.
@naiyas I see you are mentioning quality releases but forgot VCB Studio, they literally have the best quality releases with gorgeous looking encodes(most eps are 1.1 gb at least on average) plus they include the whole package with BD scans and specials!

Light did some extreme filtering on this show to fix the line-art and rescale: https://github.com/LightArrowsEXE/Encoding-Projects/blob/master/[Kaleido-subs]/Work in Progress/FGO - Absolute Demonic Front - Babylonia [BD]/FGOBD_08.vpy
