@PROThomas A majority of the pages in these releases are saved as PNG4 (16 colors) which saves a lot of space compared to JPEG as I would've done before. The images are cleaned beforehand so they're pretty much better than the source's JPEG compressed images. Even if this is technically "lossy" it looks better than if JPEG was used while being only a fraction in size. I only use PNG4 on pages that only have just lineart and halftones/screentones, where having less colors makes no difference. For those with smooth grayscale gradients and a lot of minuscule detail (think Made in Abyss and its paper texture) I keep it at 8 bits (256 colors) to retain detail, and lastly, JPEG is used for color images. I go through all the pages of a release to decide what to use for each page. (mistakes do happen, but I've seen only one in the 100+ releases that followed this workflow)
