There’s nothing wrong with mini-encodes. Some people just want to quickly snag a series, or they have limited storage space.

I am old enough to remember when anime came on SLP VHS cassettes that sounded and looked like day old dog puke. HEVC isn’t so bad.

I think @Odoakr protests to HEVC is that he doesn’t have a device that can play it. Myself I only have a slight problem with 10bit (or higher) mostly cause before 2 weeks ago I didn’t have a device that could play it but now I do and the only problem I have with it still is the fact that some groups unnecessarily uses them just to save space (or something (which I get)) but using it on files that aren’t already 10bit+ to me just seems like a waste of its capabilities.
