Notes: generic rescale AA from 855 bicubic b = 0.33, c = 0.33 as removing ringing as well, lots of manual jagges fixes (https://slow.pics/c/PSnW3X1Y), slight de-noise with de-band and detail preservation mask to prevent destruction on dark scenes. That was encoded in HEVC 10-bit with safe compression settings to produce transparent quality video.

I mean i could take the PGS files and run them through ABBYY to make an SRT file out of them and then style and typeset them… but eh… cba to do a movie right now.

I’d rather use the bdmv for my uncompressed source and ABBYY doesn’t do any better of a job reading pgs subtitles than Subtitle Edit’s Tesseract module plus it’s not free while SE is.

Some detail seems to be a little less sharp/blurred (see face), i wonder if its because of AA or just compression/denoise.
