if i wanna convert my own anime videos in AV1, what would i need?
OpusMaxE
That depends.
What level of encoding prowess do you think you have?
Novice, beginner, intermediate, advanced, enthusiast, developer?
NekoTrix (uploader)
My honest answer is that you’ll mostly need time.
Not because of the encoding time, but the time to learn how to effectively use this codec.
You should join the official AV1 discord server so that numerous knowledgeable people can answer your questions.

prowess, uh… i may be more than novice but less than beginner since i already fiddled with mkv containers and re-encoded some videos without touching much of encode settings…
i think i’ll visit AV1 discord later this month, when i get my holiday.
anyway, thanks for the answers =)
