that opening KFX looks weirdly on-point.

Why such low audio quality…
AnimeChap (uploader)
@obbz Netflix loves to release shit with 128kbps sound - It’s the highest available so unless one-day they release a BluRay, this is the best you’re gonna get!

Ah! Shame on Netflix.
Thanks for amazing rip! Such a better watch!
Golden_Chimera
Either you chose the wrong subs or Netflix just made dubtitles because these subs are all wrong for the Japanese audio.
AnimeChap (uploader)
@Golden_Chimera These were the Official Subs for the Japanese Audio (the ‘dubtitles’ were worse) but then literally about 7 hours after I uploaded this Netflix re-issued the subs as they did a whack ass job! I’ll probably re-do them some time next week and leave a link for v2 subs!

Thank you

@AnimeChap: So the subtitles for this, as they stand right now, are very bad and I should wait? Alrighty then.
zetsu_shoren
you’re making weeklies a whole lot tolerable than ever
Golden_Chimera
@AnimeChap Netflix actually fixed the subs for once? If that’s the case then I’ll wait for your v2 patiently.

NanDesuKa’s is EAC3 640kbps? Even Rapta’s is AAC 384kbps
As far as I can tell they didn’t redo the subtitles, just the dubtitles
Golden_Chimera
So then the subtitles are still just dubtitles then…
AnimeChap (uploader)
@Golden_Chimera No, these subs are proper subs - The subs that Netflix have re-done are the dubtitles, regular subs have stayed the same
Golden_Chimera
@AnimeChap You don’t seem to understand. These subs designated for the japanese audio are just dubtitles. The same as the closed captions for the english dub. Netflix didn’t make an actual translation of the japanese audio.
AnimeChap (uploader)
@Golden_Chimera Oh yeah yeah, I thought you were asking if I used the legit dubtitles - These aren’t the dubtitles, they are the somewhat adapted for Japanese Audio version - Of course not a straight up translation but you’ll see they also don’t follow along the dub either
Monrimier
Two questions if I may. How bad are original subs for Japanese audio? Do you have in plans creating more accurate subsfor Japanese audio?
whinette
Nice release.
Can you add the ripped japanese subs though? I use Netflix as a great source to learn the language, it’s one of the only source with the jp vo subs available, or jp subs with jp dub on foreign releases.
BigThreeKai
Are you still planning to do a v2 with the updated Netflix subs?

OK so what I’m getting from this is that there are no actual subtitles and the “subtitle” track provided on NF was just dubtitles, and the dubtitles were what was fixed by NF (to match the spoken English more closely, instead of looking like poor results from a cheap speech-to-text program that had the English audio fed through it)?
Guess I’ll wait and see if some enterprising fansub group decides to take a crack at it. English dubbing and dubtitles are there purely for accessibility reasons, there’s no reason to accept them as the default viewing experience as intended by the director(s), if there is a native language track available. Just sad that NF is deciding to cheap out and disrespect or insult viewers who understand Japanese well enough to know when the subtitles are flat-out wrong/are dubtitles.
