What is going on with LostYears? They used to be one of my top two picks, but now they just randomly abandon series, do a few episodes and move on, do one season of a show but now anew one - and I’m only talking about ones with existing, released audio in both Eng and Jap. What happened?
Nothing random about it. When we pick up series based on fansub releases such as Gundam Witch from Mercury… it requires said fansub to not stall. Considering GJM hasn’t released past episode 20 of this one, LostYears obviously can’t continue it.
As for picking up new seasons… that entirely depends on whether the team chooses to do in-house fansubs or rely on others. A few of our staff also volunteer to help out with other groups and thus will sometimes decide to release a show under another tag. Or we talk with other fansubbers and decide not to duplicate things as with the case of Jobless Reincarnation. No point in us doing it if sam is doing it for example.
We still hold ourselves to the same standards we always have.
