This is a fix of the hackjob that I think was the Blu-ray and not the encoders.
Every BDrip I’ve seen of this has been 24000/1001fps (NTSC FILM), when Wakfu is actually 25fps (PAL FILM). What’s worse, is the audio was simply stretched and slowed and pitched down for the extra 4.3% runtime of each episode.
It runs 4.3% slower than it’s supposed to, and all the sounds, instruments, music, and voices are 4.3% lower pitched than they’re supposed to be.
I remuxed the video (without reencoding) to match the French sources’ 25p. The Bernd_Lauert BD releases fortunately had the original BD audio, so I changed the sample rate to revert the pitch/time stretching and then encoded as Opus (The new sample rate was 50050Hz, which was likely to break something if I left it, and FLAC was nearly as large as the video stream itself)
I did a cursory check for audio and video sync and everything seemed correct, but did not watch the entire show.

S03 Web-DL from the same encoder has the correct framerate, thus no reason for me to horse around with it: https://nyaa.si/view/1032569

@hchcsen Un problème avec le français ?

this is interesting, but not being an asian animation it may end up being removed… Also, I have to note, my copies of Wakfu from back in the days when it actually was being aired, contain 27 episodes for the first two seasons, not 26, and there’s a THIRD season as well, of 13 episodes… So I’m wondering why this BD encode doesn’t include those missing episodes… 0_0

because those were Specials (Noximilien the Watchmaker and either Goultard the Barbarian or Ogrest the Legend), and were separate from the BD release, check TVDB.
Because Season 3 does not have a BD release that I’m aware of, only the WEB-DL from the same encoder: https://nyaa.si/view/1032569
And unlike the BDrips, the WEB-DL has the correct framerate, thus no reason for me to horse around with it.
There’s also a fourth season airing that also had the correct framerate on the web-dls when I looked.

THERE’S A FOURTH SEASON??? 0_0 OMG!!!

@2ndfire I tried playing the OVAs, and for some reason none of my players can play them, but the other videos play fine… any idea what’s going on there?
Edit: Nevermind, it’s the file name being too long… I shortened it, and it plays fine now… weird…

are you still using cccp? you might wanna use k-lite or mpv, i generally use k-lite except for when the subs are really heavy like the recent dr. stone, which is what mpv is for

"What’s worse, is the audio was simply stretched and slowed and pitched down for the extra 4.3% runtime of each episode."
So THAT’S what seemed off. I couldn’t identify why it sounded weird to me. Also, yeah, this it’s anime so it might be removed, but I don’t care, I’m grabbing it. Show’s fantastic.
Golden_Chimera
Were any fixes made to the subs? The batches out there for the seasons already only used the english dub names instead of the actual french names being said.
DmonHiro
I’m working on adding the fansubs to these subs. Even my poor French skills know that the subs are not very good.
2ndfire (uploader)
No. I’m afraid I haven’t watched Wakfu, I wanted to, and noticed the FPS/sound problem instantly and then went about fixing it.
If there are better subs, then by all means.
Golden_Chimera
Welp. Guess I’ll have to wait for a fansub batch still.
HeadcrabNinja
dang, yeah what Chimera said though I still appreciate the fix even if I don’t notice the difference myself

Here are the fansubs and fonts for season 1 and 2.
