Darkwispers, Orphan, and LonelyChaser present Watase Seizou’s 1988 OVA collection Chalk-iro no People (Chalk-Colored People). Like Boku wa Oldies na All-Color, this is a collection of “silent” anime stories: there’s no dialog, only background music. The dialog is conveyed via signs and intertitles.
Chalk-iro no People varies the Seizou formula in several ways. First, the stories are linked by location (in or near a chalk-colored apartment house by the shore) rather than by the theme of romance. Second, the stories vary in length, instead of being all 4-5 minutes. And third, most of them are rather bittersweet

@Spc_away - It’s not all still frames. There is actual animation, although much less than a conventional anime.
